Installation: The anchor is typically installed by imbedding it in concrete when the pool deck is being constructed. Alternatively, a hole can be drilled in existing decks and then the anchor is epoxied in place. Finally, a deck ring (escutcheon plate) covers the anchor hardware.

The anchor has a drainage hole at the bottom. Care should be taken so that when installed water will drain out of the anchor. This will greatly prolong the life of the anchor and the railing post.
Also, the anchor should be grounded if possible by connecting a grounding wire to the grounding screw on the side of the anchor. Local code may require grounding. Note: the lifetime warranty of the nickel bronze anchor requires that the anchor be grounded.
The vertical rail post is secured to the anchor by means of a brass wedge which is tighten by a stainless steel bolt. This is a very secure and stable means of attachment.
A hand rail or pool railing will require two anchors. For handrails, the anchors will be installed 8 inches apart (on center). For the Tetra pool ladder, the anchors are installed 24 inches apart (on center).
