What is a deck medallion? A deck medallion is a cover plate used to conceal the unsightly hardware - and chipped concrete that is often surrounding the hardware - used to anchor pool covers. Pool cover anchors are the sockets that are used to stretch most pool covers when installed.
The medallion is a precious metal (pewter), individually hand crafted art item that truly blends beauty and function. The standard finishes are antique pewter and brite nickel. The pewter finsh will acquire a handsome patina finish over time for last beauty. Special order brass finishes are available when brilliance is paramount.
Why are the medallions so expensive? Each deck medallion is individually hand crafted in the USA out of solid pewter. Unlike plastic covers, the Pool Jewel deck medallions are not a mass-produced item. With these deck medallions, there is a fine line as to where function stops and art accent begins.
These are art pieces that will last a life time. Quality is none but the highest. The medallions are for those pool owners who appreciate beauty and want to bring to their “get away” environment that subtle distinction that only art accents can.
How do I install a medallion? Please refer to the Installation Instructions page on this web site.

What is a deck ring? A deck ring is an escutcheon plate that is used to conceal the mounting hardware use for pool hand rails and pool ladder rails. The deck ring is crafted to fit industry standard 1.9-inch diameter rails.
The appearance of a hand rail or ladder rail is considerably improved when the mounting anchors are hidden from view. In addition, the deck ring will also conceal unsightly concrete chips that are typically found surrounding the mounting hardware.
How do I know if the deck ring will fit my pool railing? Pool hand railings and pool ladder railings are typically 1.9-inch in diameter. This is an industry standard. Deck rings are made to accommodate this size.
Are custom finishes or colors available for the deck rings? Yes. We can provide deck rings in just about any color that you, your architect or designer may want. Contact us for the details. Typically, we will require a sample paint chip or color specification to match. Please allow at least 3 to 4 weeks for delivery after you place your order for custom colors and finishes.

What is the difference between a Tetra 304 and Tetra 316? The number designation in the Tetra series refers to the type or grade of stainless steel used to fabricate the hand rail. The Tetra 304 is used for standard pool environments. The Tetra 316 is used for salt water pools or pools in salt water environments (such as ocean mists or spray). The Tetra 316 material is specifically used to resist the harsher conditions of these environments.
How do I install a Tetra pool hand railing? Please refer to the Installation Instructions page on this web site.
Are custom finishes or colors available for the Tetra hand rails? Yes. We can provide rail goods in a highly polished finish or just about any color that you, your architect or designer may want. Contact us for the details. Typically, we will require a sample paint chip or color specification to match. Please allow at least 3 to 4 weeks for delivery after you place your order for custom colors and finishes.
The finish on the rail goods is described as "mild brush". What is this? The term "mild brush" is used in the industry but may be confusing to pool owners. Most stainless steel products are "brushed" finish. A "mild brush" finish is somewhere between the standard brushed finish which you are probably most familiar and a highly polished mirror bright finish. A "mild brush" finish hides things like finger prints which may be more obvious on a highly polished finish. But is more attractive, in our opinion, than the standard brush finish
